Albatross is a small and flexible toolkit for developing highly stateful Web applications. It provides browser-based sessions via automatically-generated hidden form fields, server side sessions via a session server or file-based session store, a powerful and extensible templating system which promotes separation of presentation and implementation for improved program maintainability, implicit handling for pagination of sequences and tree browsing, template macros to allow repeated HTML and special effects HTML to be defined in one location, and lookup tables to translate Python values to arbitrary template code. Applications can be deployed as either CGI programs or as mod_python module with minor changes to program mainline. Custom deployment can be achieved by developing your own Request class.
The BitNami DjangoStack is an all-in-one installer that greatly simplifies the installation of Django and its runtime dependencies. It includes ready-to-run versions of Python, Django, MySQL, and Apache. It supports Linux, Windows, and OS X, so you can share the same Django environment on multiple platforms.
ClearSilver is a high-performance, powerful, and language-neutral HTML template system. It enforces a separation between presentation code and application logic which makes writing, debugging, and maintaining Web pages easier. It can be used from C/C++, Python, Perl, Java, and Ruby. It runs on Windows and Unix.
Cloud User Shell (cush) is a multi-call executable bringing RESTful cloud control to the command line, combining many useful cloud computing utilities into a single executable. It follows the Unix philosophy of writing components that work together, do one thing and do it well, and communicate over text (HTTP) streams. It is also RESTful, clearly delineating the 3 sides of the REST Triangle: verbs (e.g. GET), nouns (e.g. http://samj.net/), and content types (e.g. text/html).
Cymbeline is an Python application server framework that includes functionality such as database and arbitrary object pooling, Web servers (including SSL), a persistent object repository, and a text console. It was originally designed as an administrative shell for an embedded system, but has since morphed into a more general purpose, run anywhere toolkit.
The Darwin Calendar Server is a standards-compliant server that allows multiple users to collaboratively share calendaring information. It provides a shared location on the network to store schedules, and allows users to send each other and manage invitations. In order to provide interoperability with multiple calendaring clients, the server implements the CalDAV protocol, which is an extension of WebDAV, which is in turn an extension of HTTP.
Nevow is a Web application construction kit. It is designed to allow the programmer to express as much of the view logic as desired in Python, and includes a pure Python XML expression syntax, named stan, to facilitate this. It also provides rich support for designer-edited templates, using a very small XML attribute language to provide bi-directional template manipulation capability.
