Tombs of the Asciiroth is a puzzle/RPG/roguelike game you can either play in a Web browser or as an Adobe AIR application (available for Mac, Windows, and Linux). It is simple to play compared to most roguelikes, but the provided scenario should allow for some in depth game play. A map editor also exists to create new scenarios.
Deep Voyage is a collapse-style game in an underwater setting. The base mechanics are extended with many bonuses, anti-bonuses, and powerups. The game also includes a jigsaw mini-game and partially-interactive animated backgrounds which can be turned into screensaver mode when paused. During the game, the player helps a beautiful mermaid to win the royal garden design competition in Underwater Kingdom. So there is also a garden-building mini-game.
nPush is a logic game somewhere in between Sokoban and Boulder Dash. You need to collect all the gold on the level and reach the exit. To make it hard there are some rocks that stand in your way, and you also have some dynamite to blast them. The main difference from similar games is that you can have multiple player-controlled characters on the screen.
This is a comprehensive "word game" word list for UNIX/Linux. It is a superset of the author's ENABLE list, the "OSW", and various lists researched by the author's colleague, Alan Beale. At 264,093 words, it is the largest list of its kind, suitable for use in all manners of crossword-type board games and word construction games, as well as for a spell checker dictionary. The YAWL package now includes two anagramming utilities (supplied as source code, handled by the included Makefile). There is also a shell script that extends the UNIX "strings" system command. This is the word list package recommended for the author's Quackey word game.
