AMT REST API implements all the functionality available in the Amazon Mechanical Turk API natively in PHP. There are no external dependencies. The package requires PHP 5.3 or later and uses namespaces. Optional sub-packages handle worker qualifications and notifications sent by the AMT service. The source is intended to be used with the docblox automatic documentation system. An HTML manual cross-links the internal documentation with Amazon's API documentation.
The PostgreSQL extension for CLIPS Expert System provides access to a PostgreSQL database from the CLIPS environment by exposing a number of CLIPS functions. CLIPS users who are familiar with SQL should not have much difficulty in learning how to use the additional functions to interact with the database from the CLIPS environment.
fifoirc creates a named pipe on the local filesystem, such that any data written to the pipe will be written to an IRC channel. It is also possible to connect a filter program to the channel, such that any text written in the channel is passed to the program, and any text output by the program is passed to the channel.
ScalaBLAST is a high-performance multiprocessor implementation of the NCBI BLAST library. It supports all 5 primary program types (blastn, blastp, tblastn, tblastx, and blastx) and several output formats (pairwise, tabular, and XML). It will run on most multiprocessor systems which have MPI installed, and can run over a wide variety of interconnects, including infiniband, quadrics, and ethernet. It is designed to run a large number of queries against either large or small databases. It parallelizes the BLAST calculations by dynamically scheduling them across processors using a fault-resilient scheme.
The PDM library aids in inspecting and managing Python programs running as daemons, allowing client programs to connect to the daemon process in order to interact with it in various ways. Primarily, it provides an interactive read-eval-print loop, and a non-interactive programmatic interface not entirely unlike Java's JMX.
Devilspie2 is a utility to find windows and changes properties of these windows with the help of rules written in LUA. For example, you can make a window of an application always appear at the same screen position each time it starts. It is a continuation of the program Devilspie, written by Ross Burton.
pulseaudio-mixer-cli is an interactive ncurses UI to control the volume of PulseAudio streams. It is somewhat like alsamixer, but focused not on sink volume levels (which can actually be controlled via alsamixer, with the alsa-pulse plugin), but rather on the volume of individual streams from applications, allowing the user to balance sound levels between them. Interaction with pulseaudio is done through the DBus interface, and the UI is designed to be as simple as possible, without heavy DE dependencies like GNOME libs or KDE/QT.
notification-thing is a full-featured implementation of the Desktop Notifications Specification. It is not tied to any specific desktop environment, and is focused on features like rate-limiting and flexible filtering to minimize distraction and noise ratio in a transparent way, without silently dropping anything ever.
