GLE is a library package of C functions that draw extruded surfaces, including surfaces of revolution, sweeps, tubes, polycones, polycylinders and helicoids. Generically, the extruded surface is specified with a 2D polyline that is extruded along a 3D path. A local coordinate system allows for additional flexibility in the primitives drawn. Extrusions may be texture mapped in a variety of ways. The GLE library generates 3D triangle coordinates, lighting normal vectors and texture coordinates as output. GLE uses the GL or OpenGL API's to perform the actual rendering.

GPStrans is a program which allows track, route, and waypoint data to be transferred to and from a Garmin GPS. It also supports Mayko mXmap formats which enable you to create a route using your 'favorite' map and load the data into the GPS. Tracks retrieved from your Garmin GPS can be transferred back into your Mayko mXmap-capable application and replayed under Linux. Garmin 38, 40, 45XL, ..., 90, Etrex, and Etrex Summit models are supported. It also reads the current time, retrieves product data, and can turn the GPS off.

Libmmoss enables the Linux version of Netscape Navigator/Communicator to play sounds from Java applets. It is a replacement for Netscape's implementation of (the Java class) sun.audio.AudioDevice (including some JRI native C code). It should work with either the OSS or ALSA sound drivers. The Openwall Linux kernel patch is a collection of security "hardening" features for the Linux kernel. In addition to the new features, some versions of the patch contain various security fixes. The "hardening" features of the patch, while not a complete method of protection, provide an extra layer of security against the easier ways to exploit certain classes of vulnerabilities and/or reduce the impact of those vulnerabilities. The patch can also add a little bit more privacy to the system by restricting access to parts of /proc so that users may not see what others are doing.

Pip is a wrapper for programs that won't use stdin and stdout, but require filenames to be given on the command line; it lets you use '-' as a special filename. Now you can build pipelines to your heart's content. Pip takes care of creating and removing the temporary files needed. Also included is pip_latex, which handles the peculiarities of TeX and LaTeX.
