Sysmon is a network monitoring tool designed to provide high performance and accurate network monitoring. Currently supported tests include monitoring of SMTP, IMAP, HTTP, TCP, UDP, Radius, NNTP, and POP3 servers. It also includes the ability to ping hosts and routers, as well as the ability to perform SNMP queries and generate alerts based on those results. Sysmon has the ability to understand real network topologies, including the ability to monitor multiple paths and only report the actual device that is down instead of a router that is down, and all the hosts behind it.
crypt_blowfish is an efficient implementation of a modern password hashing algorithm, based on the Blowfish block cipher, provided via the crypt(3) and a reentrant interface. It is compatible with bcrypt as used in OpenBSD. It is adaptable to future processor performance improvements, allowing you to arbitrarily increase the processing cost of checking a password while still maintaining compatibility with your older password hashes. The hashes it produces are several orders of magnitude stronger than traditional Unix DES-based or FreeBSD-style MD5-based hashes.
netscript is a portable/multi-platform, lightweight TCP/UDP socket scripting system. It is intended to automate situations, built on a word-to-word ruleset response system. It includes wildcard support, character replacement, random replacement, argument inclusion, server timeout, initial send, display altering, multiple character dump formats, telnet protocol support, logging, program to socket dumping, executable ruleset support, reverse binding, module support, data truncation, data formatting, permission options, virtual hosting support, history storage, dynamic storage variables, directory placement, character omitting, timed rules, background support, syslog support, routing support, socket options, interactive mode, and graphical user interface support.
Monica is a monitor calibration tool using the FLTK library. It works as frontend to xgamma to alter the gamma correction for XFree86 or Xorg. The black point, gray, and color blocks help to find usable settings for a target of 2.2 gamma, the Web, and sRGB standard. FLTK libs are not needed for the binary.
Imageinfo is a single Java class that examines InputStream and RandomAccessFile objects. It checks whether the stream/file is in one of the supported image file formats and determines image width, height, and color depth. ImageInfo does not depend on the AWT or additional libraries.
Platform Independent Petri Net Editor (PIPE) creates and analyses Petri Nets quickly, efficiently, and effectively. A key design feature is the modular approach adopted for analysis, enabling new modules to be written easily and powerfully, using built-in data layer methods for standard calculations. Six analysis modules are provided, including Invariant Analysis, State-Space Analysis (deadlock, etc.), and Simulation Analysis and Classification. PIPE adheres to the XML Petri net standard (PNML). The file format for saving and loading Petri Nets is extensible through the use of XSLT, the default being PNML.
Multixterm creates multiple xterms that can be driven together or separately. It can be used to login via SSH to multiple hosts and control them simultaneously, or for ad hoc things where you want to see the results as you type. Each xterm may also be driven separately. Multixterm is scriptable so that you can easily fire up, for example, a dozen xterms with a single command, tiled nicely on your screen. In addition to SSH, multixterm can drive rlogin, telnet, passwd, or any program that runs in an xterm.
