RabbIt is a mutating, caching Web proxy used to speed up surfing over slow links like modems. It does this by removing advertising and background images and scaling down images to low quality JPEGs. RabbIT is written in Java and should be able to run on any platform. It does depend upon an image converter if image scaling is on. The recommended image converter is "convert" from the ImageMagick package.
Squeuer is a queueing proxy for Seti@Home. It keeps a configurable sized queue of work units so that the client will always be able to get a new work unit immediately upon finishing one. It queues results for uploading should the main Seti@Home site be overloaded or down. Results are never lost and the client is never delayed waiting to upload a result. It can handle multiple users running the Seti@Home client on multiple machines all connecting to Squeuer. It has been tested and found to work on different versions of Unix, MacOS, and Windows. All it requires is a Perl 5 interpreter.
SOHT (Socket over HTTP Tunneling) allows you to tunnel socket connections through an HTTP proxy. Restrictive firewalls often prohibit all outgoing trafic except for HTTP. This application allows you to tunnel socket connections over the HTTP protocol. This application consists of a server that serves as a proxy and a client which tunnels a socket connection over an HTTP connection to the server. The current server is written in Java, and there are clients in Java and .NET.
Kipt (Kizome's ISA Piercing Tool) is an HTTP proxy server and proxying name server with the ability to forward requests to other HTTP proxies or to get the documents directly from hosts. It can go through MS ISA Server or MS Proxy doing NTLM authentication. If you're stuck behind a restrictive firewall or proxy with at least one port open for outgoing connections and you have access to a machine outside, you can have nearly full Internet access by using this proxy and the socksify program from dante.
plugdaemon is a load-balancing "plug" proxy. It allows you to forward TCP connections to one or multiple hosts, using load balancing or failover, and to route the connections through an HTTPS proxy. Access control is done by source interface or by originating IP. Outgoing connections can be bound to a specific IP address.
Tor is a network of virtual tunnels that allows people and groups to improve their privacy and security on the Internet. It also enables software developers to create new communication tools with built-in privacy features. It provides the foundation for a range of applications that allow organizations and individuals to share information over public networks without compromising their privacy. Individuals can use it to keep remote Websites from tracking them and their family members. They can also use it to connect to resources such as news sites or instant messaging services that are blocked by their local Internet service providers (ISPs).
The SIP Switch is a Web application which allows you to use multiple SIP accounts on the same phone. This lets you use the call plans of different VoIP companies (using SIP) with one IP phone device. It does the third party SIP registration so you can receive all your calls on the sipswitch account. On dial out, you can set prefixes to make your outgoing calls with such or such provider.
