foo2lava is a driver for printers that use the Zenographics LAVAFLOW wire protocol for their print data, such as the Konica Minolta magicolor 2530 DL or the Konica Minolta magicolor 2490 MF. These printers are often erroneously referred to as winprinters or GDI printers. In fact, LAVAFLOW printers are raster printers that happen to use a very efficient wire protocol that was developed by Zenographics and licensed by most major printer manufacturers for at least some of their product lines. LAVAFLOW is just one of many wire protocols that are in use today, such as Postscript, PCL, Epson, ZjStream, etc.
foo2qpdl is a printer driver for printers that use the QPDL wire protocol for their print data, such as the Samsung CLP-300, CLP-310, CLP-315 or the Samsung CLP-600, CLP-610nd, CLP-620nd. These printers are often erroneously referred to as winprinters or GDI printers. In fact, QPDL printers are raster printers which happen to use a very efficient wire protocol. cupsfax is a set of two scripts to integrate a HylaFAX fax server into the CUPS printing system. To send a fax, the user prints it to the designated printer queue. He will then receive email with a link to a Web form. In this Web form, the user may enter additional parameters (most importantly the receiving fax number). This way, there are no additional conditions on what can be printed, like fax numbers embedded into the file or job name. This can also be fully integrated into a Wamba/CUPS configuration, enabling Windows clients to send arbitrary documents as faxes. It also gives the full power of the CUPS print processing pipeline to sending faxes, and makes it possible to specify additional faxing options.
Apache XML Graphics Commons is a library that consists of several reusable components used by Apache Batik and Apache FOP. The Java Print Dialog Framework (JPDF) allows software developers to add a comprehensive printing capability to existing Java applications. The JPDF can preview and print Swing components: JTable, JTree, JTextPane, JTextArea, JEditorPane, and JPanel. Business reports and forms can be composed, viewed, and printed. A wide variety of page-setup, print-preview, and print dialogs are provided. The JPDF is designed to be integrated into Java Swing applications.
PoDoFo is a C++ library to work with the PDF file format. It also includes also a few tools. It includes classes to parse a PDF file, modify its contents in memory, write the changes back to disk, and create new PDF files. The PoDoFo tools are simple tools built around the PoDoFo library. These tools are primarily examples of how to use the PoDoFo library in your own projects, although they offer useful features for working with PDF files.
