PostScript::CDCover generates a Postscript program that prints a CD cover and backlabel, with contents displayed as a tree of directories and files. The module ships with a stand-alone, ready-to-use script, pscdcover, that takes the directory tree of a CD-ROM as input and generates a cover from it. The output can be directly fed to a PostScript printer, but it is designed to be easily editable (should one wish to remove unwanted directory entries, for example).
Tea4CUPS is similar in functionality to the *nix command "tee", but in the form of a CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System) backend. Tea4CUPS captures a print job's data in their final form while they are being sent to a printer (more precisely, to a CUPS backend), and at the same time allows you to dispatch these data to any number of commands.
make_cd_label is a script that helps create stickers for CDs. It is intended to be integrated with your backup scripts, but can also make stickers for audio CDs using CDDB and disc-cover. The output is an XML file that can be read into glabels and then edited or printed. It uses Memorex or Avery CD label stickers.
Optar is a software codec that generates 2D bar codes for data storage on paper using a black and white laser printer and scanner. It fits 200kB on an A4 page, uses Golay forward error correction codes to ensure reliability, and can also be used to store data on photographic film.
