DynamicReports is a Java reporting library based on JasperReports. It allows you to create dynamic report designs and it doesn't need a visual report designer. You can very quickly create reports and produce documents that can be displayed, printed, or exported into many popular formats such as PDF, Excel, Word, and others.
Barcode Writer in Pure Postscript implements the printing of many barcode formats entirely within PostScript, so that the process of converting the input string into the printed output is performed by the printer or print system. The Big Faceless PDF Library is a Java class library for creating PDF documents. The Extended Edition offers the ability to create and edit AcroForms, PDF's answer to the HTML form. Like HTML forms, PDF forms can contain text boxes, radio buttons, and can call JavaScript functions. The Extended Edition also includes a PDF reader for importing and editing, along with FDF support, verification for digital signatures and text extraction. Both variations offer full Unicode support, encryption, embedded TrueType and Type1 fonts, barcodes, hyperlinks, and spot and calibrated color.
LPRng is the Next Generation in LPR software. It supports the standard bsd lpr commands and also supports an System V interface. Other features include lightweight lpr, lpc, and lprm programs, dynamic redirection of print queues, automatic job holding, highly verbose diagnostics, multiple printers serving a single queue, client programs do not need to run SUID root, greatly enhanced security checks and a greatly improved permission and authorization mechanism. The default configuration provides a simple BSD LPR interface, but there are options to modify a wide variety of operational facilities. The companion IFHP print filter can interface to a wide variety of printers, from the latest network based high speed to vintage legacy printers.

pdfTeX is an extended version of TeX that can create PDF directly from TeX source files and enhance the result of TeX typesetting with the help of PDF. When PDF output is not selected, pdfTeX produces normal DVI output, otherwise it produces PDF output that looks identical to the DVI output. An important aspect of this project is to investigate alternative justification algorithms, optionally making use of multiple master fonts.
Philip's Music Writer is a program for typesetting music. It reads text files as input, and generates PostScript as output. It can also write simple MIDI files for proofhearing purposes. PMW is written in C and is freestanding; that is, it does not require additional processing software. It is a Linux/Unix port of a program that has run for over a decade on Acorn systems, where it was known as Philip's Music Scribe.
