GPP is a general-purpose preprocessor with customizable syntax, suitable for a wide range of preprocessing tasks. Its independence from any programming language makes it much more versatile than cpp, while its syntax is lighter and more flexible than that of m4. The syntax is fully customizable, which makes it possible to process text files, HTML, or source code equally efficiently in a variety of languages.
CLIP is a Clipper/XBase compatible compiler with initial support other xBase dialects. It features support for international languages and character sets. It also features OOP, a multiplatform GUI based on GTK/GTKextra, all SIX/Comix features (including hypertext indexing), SQL and ODBC drivers, a C-API for third-party developers, a few wrappers for popular libraries (such as BZIP, GZIP, GD, Crypto, and Fcgi), a multitasking client and application server based on TCP/IP sockets, object data base utilities, and a functions library.
Youhp3 (Youpee's One Unlimited HTML PreProcessor) is an HTML preprocessor that allows you to embed code of any script language, as well as calling any external program to generate text files. It is specifically designed to work with HTML/XML documents, and provide traditional features, such as define, include, macro, conditional tests, and loop.
EmPy is a system for embedding Python expressions and statements in template text. It takes an EmPy source file, processes it, and produces output. This is accomplished via expansions, which are special signals to the EmPy system and are set off by a special prefix (by default the at sign, '@'). It can expand arbitrary Python expressions and statements in this way, as well as a variety of special forms. Textual data not explicitly delimited in this way is sent unaffected to the output, allowing Python to be used in effect as a markup language. Also supported are callbacks via hooks, recording and playback via diversions, and dynamic, chainable filters. The system is highly configurable via command line options and embedded commands.
distcc is a parallel build system that distributes compilation of C/C++/ObjC code across machines on a network. It can be set up in just a few minutes and makes builds up to ten times faster. It does not require machines to share a filesystem or have the same libraries or header files, and installation does not need superuser privileges.
SPYCE is a server-side language that supports simple and efficient Python-based dynamic HTML generation, otherwise called Python Server Pages. Those who like Python and are familiar with JSP, PHP, or ASP should have a look at Spyce. Its modular design makes it very flexible and extensible. It can also be used as a command-line utility for static text pre-processing or as a Web-server proxy.
Generally, mod_ocaml is a flexible apache module for use of INRIA's powerful OCAML interpreter as a Web scripting language (with functional and imperative features). Simply embed OCAML code between HTML on your pages, like you do with PHP, mod_perl, etc. After modifying some settings, you can use almost any interpreter for providing dynamic content on your HTML pages.
Java+ is a Java preprocessor that adds its features to any Java compiler. It has long, multi-line strings with executable inclusions like Perl or Ruby, optionally segregates Java+ strings into ResourceBundle files, eliminates the need for JSP or ASP and their implied need for Java compilers on deployment servers (a security concern), and adds absolutely no overhead in either space or time. There are graphical and command line interfaces, and a simple, general, and recursive string syntax.
Stunnix Perl-Obfus is a unique solution for protecting your valuable intellectual property from possible Perl source code piracy/studying/rework. It's an advanced and extremely reliable obfuscator for the Perl source code. It converts the Perl source files (.pl and .pm) into highly mangled and obfuscated forms, making them extremely difficult to study, analyse, reuse, or re-work for competitors or customers, while fully retaining functionality of the original source code. It's not a compiler to machine code, and the obfuscated form will still be the usual Perl source code, and so will work on all platforms the original source worked on.
