CUPS is a standards-based printing system for Mac OS X and other Unix-like operating systems. It provides the System V and Berkeley command line interfaces, and uses the Internet Printing Protocol ("IPP") as the basis for managing print jobs and queues. The Line Printer Daemon (LPD) Server Message Block (SMB), and AppSocket (a.k.a. JetDirect) protocols are also supported with reduced functionality. CUPS adds network printer browsing and PostScript Printer Description ("PPD") based printing options to support real world printing.

Barcode Writer in Pure Postscript implements the printing of many barcode formats entirely within PostScript, so that the process of converting the input string into the printed output is performed by the printer or print system. VectorGraphics2D can export Java painting operations to Encapsulated PostScript (EPS), Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG), or Portable Document Format (PDF) files. It supports the rendering of all geometric shapes provided by the Java language. More advanced features like transparency or clipping paths can be used as well. It has a very small footprint and can be easily used as a replacement for Java's java.awt.Graphics2D class.
