iTunes Export provides the ability to export iTunes Playlists to the standard .m3u file format. Unfortunately, this feature is not included in the iTunes application and is extremely useful for users who wish to use iTunes with other applications or devices. iTunes Export is written in C# (.Net). iTunes Export provides a Command Line version (tested on Mono) and a GUI version, as well as a library that developers can use in their own applications.
EasyPMP is a program used to create and maintain the music database on a variety of portable music players. This allows tracks to be browsed by artist, album, genre, etc., rather than by directory structure. The following devices are supported: iRiver H100 series; iRiver H300 series; iRiver H10 UMS; iRiver H10 MTP (with emergency connect mode); iRiver H10Jr. UMS; iRiver U10 UMS; MEDION MDJuke220 and MDJuke 440; and Samsung YH-820, YH-920, and YH-925. It is developed as part of a project called PMPlib, which aims to develop a library that can be used by desktop media players and other programs, in order to support these devices.
A.M.I.C.U.S. (Automatic Multimedia Installation Configuration Utility System) helps users quickly and easily install and configure MythTV on generic PC hardware. It uses the Debian Netinst CD to install GNU/Linux and just the required packages to allow a functional MythTV on low end hardware.
libptp is a Picture Transfer Protocol support library. It is used for downloading images from PTP cameras. It currently works with most modern cameras from the following vendor: Kodak, HP, Nikon, Canon, Panasonic, Olympus, Konica, Minolta, Fuji, Ricoh, and Sony. This package also contains "ptpcam", the tool used to tweak camera properties and perform some basic operations.
Music Manager is a Konqueror plugin that lets you standardize the filenames of your music files, guess information and set ID3 tags from the file's name (this can be done to several files in one shot), rename many selected files based on their ID3 tags, set ID3 tags in mass for selected files with options for copying ID3s from other files and leaving some ID3 fields untouched, rename _ to space and vice versa, create HTML and text indexes of your collections (including total playing time, etc., configurable through templates), create nice CD covers with full listings of your music files (also configurable through templates), and organize your music collection to create a CD.
BeatPacker is a simple Python script that uses an M3U playlist to generate a temporary folder filled with files that can be easily transferred to a portable music player. It's designed to be used as a target for drag-and-drop, a nautilus-scripts right-click action, or similar purposes. A Windows installer is available.
