ePeriodique is a graphical application which displays the periodic table of the elements. It shows basic data for each element, pictures, Bohr models, and lattice structures. It tries to use the EFL way and provide two themes, one for the desktop (default) and one for small displays (small).
FísicaLab is an educational application to solve physics problems. The problems are set up by adding elements from the palette to a chalkboard and entering the data for each element. The elements are objects such as blocks, pulleys, motors, and forces. It can use the SI and English unit systems, scientific notation, and many conversion factors. The types of problems that can be solved are kinematics of particles (including circular motion), static analysis of particles and rigid bodies in 2D, dynamic analysis of particles in 2D (excluding the dynamics of circular motion), heat, calorimetry, ideal gas, and expansion. The static and dynamic problems are entered by constructing the free body diagrams of the objects.
SEM2DPACK is a simulator of 2D elastic wave propagation and fracture dynamics that applies the Spectral Element Method (SEM, similar to mass-lumped high-order finite element methods). Flexibility and accuracy are the main goals. Although the emphasis is currently on computational seismology and earthquake source dynamics, this tool might attract a wider audience in computational mechanics, research, and engineering.
Meta.Numerics is a Mono-compatible .NET library for scientific and numerical programming. It includes functionality for matrix algebra (including SVD, non-symmetric eigensystems, and sparse matrices), special functions of real and complex numbers (including Bessel functions and the complex error function), statistics and data analysis (including PCA, logistic and nonlinear regression, statistical tests, and nonuniform random deviates), and signal processing (including arbitrary-length FFTs).
LaserCalc is a tool to calculate optical paths and resonators based on Gaussian beam matrix optics. Optical elements such as lenses or distances can be set up to an optical path. An input beam parameter (z & w value) as well as the wavelength can be set. The programm calculates the propagation of the beam along the path. For an optical resonator, the TEM00 Eigenmode of a given wavelength is automatically calculated. Furthermore, a stability parameter is derived.
V_Sim visualizes atomic structures such as crystals, grain boundaries, molecules, and so on It can work with files either in binary format or in plain text format. The rendering is done in pseudo-3D with colored spheres to represent the atoms. The user can interact through many functions to choose the view, the size of the atoms, their color, the background color, the type of fog, and more. Moreover, V_Sim allows you to export the view as images in GIF, PS, and other formats.
fsc2 is a program for controlling spectrometers. Experiments are done by interpretation of scripts written in a simple language, EDL. Devices are handled via modules in order to allow easy integration of new devices. More than 50 devices are supported, connected via serial port, GPIB, LAN, or USB as well as data acquisition cards, etc. The state of an experiment can be remotely monitored via a built-in Web server.

Its main features are support for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), heat transfer and radiation, linear stress-strain, electro-statics, acoustics, ground water flow, shape optimization, 3D mesh generation, an intuitive GUI, and import and export functionality. The Range Software package contains several tools which helps the user to setup, solve, and analyze the engineering problem.
The Interactive Spectral Interpretation System (ISIS) is designed to facilitate the interpretation and analysis of high resolution X-ray spectra. It is being developed as a programmable, interactive tool for studying the physics of X-ray spectrum formation, supporting measurement and identification of spectral features and interaction with a database of atomic structure parameters and plasma emission models.
ESMF is software for building and coupling weather, climate, and related models. The premise is that complicated applications should be broken up into smaller pieces, or components. A component is a unit of software composition that has a coherent function, and a standard calling interface and behavior. Components can be assembled to create multiple applications, and different implementations of a component may be available.
