TCB::mysql is a DBIx::Frame interface to the default mysql authorization database that comes with MySQL. It was written for easy tracking (though not adding!) of information from this database within the Theoretical and Computational Biophysics Group at UIUC, using the same interface as the rest of the databases used there. It provides a basic administrative interface for adding, modifying, or deleting this information. It isn't as full-featured as some of the scripts that come with the package, but it still works pretty well.
Tie::EncryptedHash augments Perl hash semantics to build secure, encrypting containers of data. Tie::EncryptedHash introduces special hash fields that are coupled with encrypt/decrypt routines to encrypt assignments at STORE() and decrypt retrievals at FETCH(). Encryption is done with Blowfish, DES, or IDEA.
News::Overview is a Perl object that manages condensed information about Usenet posts in the overview format. It accepts information from an NNTP XOVER command, and allows for basic searching and sorting of the referenced articles. It was designed to be part of several other news modules.
Gtk2::Ex::DBI is a Perl module that is used in conjunction with Gtk2::Perl and Gtk2::GladeXML to give data-aware "form" functionality. The programmer creates a database form with Glade2, and then creates a Gtk2::Ex::DBI object, which then "binds" a DBI data source to the form, managing querying, navigating records, applying updates to the database, and error handling.
TCB::PortMap is a basic network port tracking package written for DBIx::Frame, which used at the Theoretical and Computational Biophysics Group at UIUC. It is used to keep track of which network ports are on or off and at what speeds they are running, when information regarding these ports only comes in occasionally. It provides an (inefficient) administrative Web interface for managing port information.
