The GNOME Structured File Library is a utility library for reading and writing structured file formats. Support for MS OLE2 streams is complete, as is zip import. There is also support for document metadata and some initial work on decompressing VBA streams in OLE files for future conversion to other languages. This library replaces libole2 and is used in gnumeric, mrproject, abiword, libwv2, koffice. It is also part of the AAF format.

PPM-Make is a Perl module that automates some of the steps needed to make a ppm (Perl Package Manager) package from a CPAN distribution. It attempts to fill in the ABSTRACT and AUTHOR attributes of Makefile.PL if these are not supplied, and also generates HTML documentation. ppm is used in the ActivePerl distribution. ActivePerl is primarily used on Windows and by corporations on other OSes.
Chestnut Package Manager is a utility to handle executables and resource files in a transparent, platform independent, and relocatable way. Its concept is similar to Apple bundles and Java archives. It is implemented in Python. Chestnut makes it possible to invoke programs or obtain resources without knowledge of their absolute or relative path, making them accessible even after relocation of the package to another directory.

With 'nixstaller' you can easily make installers for Unix-like systems. Some of the project goals: support for many different platforms, support for different (optional) frontends used by the installer (currently FLTK, ncurses, GTK 2, and Qt are planned), ease of use for the install creator and the end user, different ways of installing (extract files to a location, compile software on the user's system, and maybe even integration for the package manager running on the user's system). Nixstaller can be fully translated and is programmed in C++ and sh.
