Ruby appscript (rb-appscript) is a high-level, user-friendly Apple event bridge that allows you to control scriptable MacOS X applications using ordinary Ruby scripts. It is a port of the powerful, mature Python appscript package, making Ruby a serious alternative to Apple's own AppleScript language for automating your Mac.
File Ripper is a file extractor based on header recognition. It can be used to recover files from unfragmented disk images where filesystem information has been lost or otherwise corrupted, or the files have been inadvertently deleted. It detects and extracts ZIP, PNG, GIF, JPG, HTML, DOC, CDR, DOS EXE, LBM, PBM, ANM, BAT, BAS, RTF, HLP, WAV, WRI, ARJ, ANS, ZZT, FRM, text BAS, BMP, MZB, FLI, MSP, MZX, GDM, IT, S3M, SAV, BRD, LZH/LHA, MOD, XM, VOC, SVX, ABM, Quetzal, and certain obscure bulletin board system formats.
s710 lets you communicate from a Linux computer to a Polar S710 heart rate monitor via the serial IR interface. It is not complete, but a utility is provided that gives you the ability to view the settings on the watch and download exercise files. Other provided utilities allow you to print the contents of exercise files and render the data in PNG graphs. A Perl interface to the library is also provided. This tool is used by Polarview and SportsTracker.
KatchTV is an "Internet TV" application for KDE. It makes it easy to subscribe to "TV" channels from all over the Internet in the form of podcasts, so that you can browse channels, download shows, and watch them, all from one convenient interface. It is very similar to Democracy TV, but focuses on KDE integration, using KHTMLPart and embedded players such as kaffeine. It's much faster and lighter on resources if you run a KDE desktop without GTK apps. Installation is easy as long as your distribution has PyKDE and PyQt.
xAutoClick is an autoclicker application that enables you to automatically click the left mouse button. It is designed to reduce strain on the wrist muscles caused by repetitive mouse clicking, which can lead to serious injury or impairment (RSI, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, et cetera). By specifying the interval, a random factor and the number of times to click, the program simulates natural clicking.
