Range Software is software for finite element analysis (FEA) in engineering simulations. Its main features are support for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), heat transfer and radiation, linear stress-strain, electro-statics, acoustics, ground water flow, shape optimization, 3D mesh generation, an intuitive GUI, and import and export functionality. The Range Software package contains several tools which helps the user to setup, solve, and analyze the engineering problem.
GPLIGC is a program for analyzing IGC flight data from GNSS flight data recorders used by glider pilots. It uses Perl/Tk and gnuplot. The openGLIGCexplorer (written in C++) allows one to view the data in 3D with OpenGL, and can also be used as a digital elevation model terrain viewer. It can also be used for off-screen rendering of 2D and 3D images of flight tracks or terrain/map data.
JDiveLog is a logbook for scuba diving. It manages all important dive data, as well as the pictures taken during the dive. Features include the ability to import UDCF data or data from Suunto, Uwatec, and HeinrichsWeikamp computers, profile generation, statistics, and a Web page generator.
jRSVP is a Java 1.4 tool for Rapid Serial Visual Presentation, a technique for extremely fast reading. It uses the Multivalent library for parsing input documents, and is able to read PDF, PS, HTML, man pages, and other documents. It displays texts on a word-by-word or sentence-by-sentence basis and features a file history and bookmarks.
Snow Path Formation Simulator is a program that models the process of people forming very distinct, and yet not always altogether logical looking, paths in the snow as they walk across open spaces. The evolving condition of the snow is displayed graphically. This project may eventually mature into a screensaver.
