Orient Key/Value Server is based on the Document Database technology and is accessible as an embedded repository via Java APIs or via HTTP using a RESTful API. It uses a new algorithm called RB+Tree, derived from the Red-Black Tree to maintain tree balance, and from the B+Tree storing the links to records in pages to optimize memory consumption and loading time. Orient Key/Value Server scales out very well in a cluster with thousands of running machines: Orient will divide the load among all the nodes. Clustering, by default, works in auto-discovery mode: when a node starts, it attaches itself to the cluster if one is available. When a node goes down, the cluster automatically rebalances itself.

UDP Test is a simple UDP server and client bundled into a single script. It is designed to be used as a network testing tool, and it detects packet loss and corruption. UDP is a lossy network transport in that UDP packets may be dropped if there is not enough capacity to send them. UDP is typically used in real-time scenarios such as voice and video chat. udptest.rb is designed to be as simple as possible. It bounces small packets from the client to the server and back again. If the packet checksum is incorrect at any point, the script exits with an error. This type of script is designed to detect faulty hardware and errors in configuration, as well as network performance.

RubyDNS is a high-performance DNS server that can be easily integrated into other projects or used as a stand-alone daemon (via RExec). By default, it uses rule-based pattern matching. Results can be hard-coded, computed, fetched from a remote DNS server, or fetched from a local cache, depending on requirements. In addition, RubyDNS includes a high-performance asynchronous DNS resolver built on top of EventMachine. This module can be used by itself in client applications without using the full RubyDNS server stack.
