VIrus (VI resembling utility skeleton) was originally taken from busybox and stripped of most unrelated stuff. The intention is to provide a pure, minimalist VI implementation that allows you to switch off shell-escaping and other security risks by default, and allow the admin to offer an interim user to just have a vi as login-shell on a certain host, while allowing others to work with a resource-sensitive and small vi implementation for your OS bootdisks.
VM is a mail reader written in Emacs LISP for GNU Emacs and XEmacs. It can retrieve mail from local spool files or remotely via POP and IMAP, display and send MIME messages, thread messages, auto-sort messages into folders, and manipulate "virtual folders" of messages matching certain criteria. In Emacs versions with X support it provides an interface with toolbars, menus, and mouse-based message selection.
VRaptor 2 is a Web-based MVC and IOC framework based on many frameworks and ideas (Seam, Stripes, Webwork, Hibernate Annotations, etc). It makes full use of Java 5 Annotations. It favors convention over configuration, because configuration in XML/properties/annotations is always easy to make mistakes and repetitive (aka copy and paste in many places). This framework uses a more imperative approach, instead of having many XML files to configure lifecycle and other properties. Most of the settings go inside plain Java objects (POJO), so the team knows exactly what is going on and where.
