EiffelStudio is an IDE for the Eiffel language (ECMA-367, ISO/IEC 25436, and ACM Software System Award 2006). It includes: Eiffel compiler, Eiffel editor, Eiffel code browsing tool, Eiffel testing tool, graphical design tool, refactoring tool, debugger, profiler, and Eiffel analysis tools (Metrics, Dependencies, etc.). Eiffel generates C or CLI for .NET or Mono. Eiffel applies O-O principles and Design by Contract for high-quality software. Many Eiffel libraries are included: ADT, network, GUI, database, parsing (including an Eiffel parser), XML, Web, COM, and more.
MatrixSSL is an embedded SSL and TLS implementation designed for small footprint devices and applications requiring low overhead per connection. The library is less than 50K on disk with cipher suites. It includes SSL and TLS client and server support, session resumption, and implementations of RSA, AES, 3DES, ARC4, SHA1, and MD5. The source is well documented and contains portability layers for additional operating systems, cipher suites, and cryptography providers.
The SDL_gfx library offers several components: Graphic Primitives, Rotozoomer, Framerate control, and MMX image filters. The Primitives component provides basic drawing routines: pixels, hlines, vlines, lines, aa-lines, thick-lines, rectangles, rounded-rectangles, boxes, rounded boxes, circles, aa-circles, ellipses, trigons, polygons, textured-polygons, Bezier curves, and an 8x8 pixmap font for drawing onto any SDL Surface. Full alpha blending, hardware surface locking, and all surface depths are supported. The Rotozoomer can use interpolation for high quality output.
Potrace is a utility for tracing a bitmap (that is, transforming a bitmap into a smooth, scalable image). The input is a portable bitmap (PBM), and the default output is an encapsulated PostScript file (EPS). A typical use is to create EPS files from scanned data, such as company or university logos, handwritten notes, etc. The resulting image is not "jaggy" like a bitmap, but smooth. It can then be rendered at any resolution.
Darik's Boot and Nuke (DBAN) is a self-contained boot floppy that securely wipes the hard disks of most computers. DBAN will automatically and completely delete the contents of any hard disk that it can detect, which makes it an appropriate utility for bulk or emergency data destruction.
GNU Source-highlight produces a document with syntax highlighting when given a source file. It handles many languages, e.g., Java, C/C++, Prolog, Perl, PHP3, Python, Flex, HTML, and other formats, e.g., ChangeLog and log files, as source languages and HTML, XHTML, DocBook, ANSI color escapes, LaTeX, and Texinfo as output formats. Input and output formats can be specified with a regular expression-oriented syntax.
