CHIRP is a tool for automating the creation of configuration trees for Cricket. It supports a plugin architecture for adding drivers which produce Cricket configuration files and supports automatic detection of device types. When a network device is identified, CHIRP dynamically associates a driver with it to produce the configuration file.
The Event monitor project is an approach to network management based on message passing between manager and managed nodes. It's based on a client/server platform, where the server is the manager node, and all clients are managed nodes. This tool is under development, but has lots of features implemented, like a graphical console, message passing layer, one disk monitor and clients for sending messages (both API and binary forms are provided).

QDPF was written to solve the problem of exposing internal services to the Internet. It runs on machines which bridge two networks and forwards TCP/IP packets from one to the other. Its main use is to expose corporate or Intranet services to the Internet, by running it on an intervening machine. TCP sessions can also be followed in detail using the 'trace' option. QDPF is a Java console application.
RUE is intended to be used as a general, local or remote, monitoring tool for any Java based server such as Tomcat, Tyrex, Enhydra, JBoss, JOnAS, etc. RUE is written in 100% Java, and features pluggable samplers and sensors, data visualization plug-ins, configurable data history, output of HTML reports, a standard AWT GUI, JNDI-based sensor lookups, and a simple API for pooling, aggregation, and averaging.

snmpwatch can be used to remotely watch via SNMP the size and the memory used by each process. It will warn you if a process exceeds its `quota' of CPU or memory - these limits are based on process and host name. One of the most important advantages of snmpwatch is that you don't have to install anything specific on the servers you want to watch, everything is done remotely on a distinct and centralized monitoring host.
