Ghostscript is a processor for PostScript and PDF files. It can rasterize these files to a wide variety of printers, devices for screen preview, and image file formats. Since applications tend to prepare pages for printing in a high-level format such as PostScript, most Unix users with low-level bitmap printers, such as inkjets, use GhostScript as part of the printing process. In addition, Ghostscript is capable of converting PostScript files, functionality comparable to Adobe Acrobat Distiller, but on the command line. In addition, Ghostscript is used for file import and viewing by a great many other applications, including xv, ImageMagick, gimp, and xdvi. Several GUI wrappers for viewing PostScript and PDF files exist, including GSview, ghostview, gv, ggv, and kghostview. This is far from a comprehensive list.
QP is a family of lightweight software frameworks for building responsive and modular real-time embedded applications as systems of cooperating, event-driven active objects (actors). The QP family consists of QP/C, QP/C++, and QP-nano frameworks, which are all strictly quality controlled, superbly documented, and commercially licensable. The behavior of active objects is specified in QP by means of hierarchical state machines (UML statecharts). The frameworks support manual coding of UML state machines in C or C++ as well as automatic code generation by means of the free QM modeling tool. All QP frameworks can run on bare-metal MCUs, completely replacing a traditional RTOS. Ports and ready-to-use examples are provided for all major CPUs, such as ARM Cortex-M, ARM7/9, MSP430, C28x, C55x, RX, R8C, AVR32, AVRMega, PIC24/dsPIC, as well as Arduino and mbed. QP/C and QP/C++ can also work with a traditional OS/RTOS, such as: POSIX (Linux, QNX), Windows, VxWorks, ThreadX, and uC/OS.
gfortune is a replacement for the traditional Berkeley fortune program included with the BSD games package. This implementation supports recursion down a tree of fortune files, the option to limit the number of lines output (for scripting), and other features. It fully maintains the functionality of the original. It includes the author's own archive of fortune files.
gnoMint is a tool for easily creating and managing certification authorities. It provides fancy visualization of all the pieces of information that pertain to a CA, such as x509 certificates, CSRs, and CRLs. gnoMint is currently capable of managing a CA that emits certificates that are able to authenticate people or machines in VPNs (IPSec or other protocols), secure HTTP communications with SSL/TLS, authenticate and cipher HTTP communications through Web-client certificates, and sign or crypt email messages.
PDFResurrect is a tool aimed at analyzing PDF documents. The PDF format allows for previous document changes to be retained in a more recent version of the document, thereby creating a running history of changes for the document. This tool attempts to extract all previous versions while also producing a summary of changes between versions. It can also "scrub" or write data over the original instances of PDF objects that have been modified or deleted, in an effort to disguise information from previous versions that might not be intended for anyone else to read.
METSlib is an object-oriented metaheuristics framework in C++ designed to make implementing or adapting models easy. The model is modular: all the implemented search algorithms can be applied to the same model. METSlib implements the basics of some metaheuristics algorithms, such as Random Restart Local Search, Variable Neighborhood Search, Iterated Local Search, Simulated Annealing, and Tabu Search. For each algorithm, you must implement an objective function, a neighborhood (move manager), and some moves. Tabu Search is one of the fastest ways to generate near-optimal solutions to a wide range of hard combinatorial optimization problems.
LLnextgen is a (partial) reimplementation of the LLgen Extended-LL(1) parser generator that is part of the Amsterdam Compiler Kit (ACK). It takes an EBNF-like description of the grammar with associated semantic actions in C as input, and generates C code. The generated code is strict ANSI C, so it should compile with all current C compilers.
