di is a disk information utility that displays everything that df does and more. It features the ability to display your disk usage in whatever format you prefer. It also checks the user and group quotas, so that the user sees the space available for their use, not the system wide disk space. It is designed to be highly portable across many platforms and is great for heterogenous networks.

bandwidthd tracks usage of TCP/IP network subnets and builds HTML files with graphs to display network utilization. Charts are built by individual IP to show their utilization over 2, 8, 45, and 400 day periods. It color codes HTTP, HTTPS, TCP,UDP, ICMP, VPN, and P2P traffic. Unlike MRTG, it tracks each individual IP address and subnets, not the status of any particular link. Static mode is fast and easy to set up and has few dependencies. Database mode supports filtering by subnet, multiple sensors, custom reports and intervals, and can process thousands of IPs efficiently. Network utilization can be logged in CDF or a backend database.

Spinner is useful for keeping telnet and ssh links from dropping due to inactivity. Many firewalls and some ISPs drop connections when they are perceived as idle. By having spinner running, the server is constantly sent a tiny amount of data over the link, preserving the connection. Spinner thus acts as a keep-alive. It displays a little "spinning" ASCII character in the top left corner of your terminal. It supports any terminal capable of handling VT100-style escape codes. Spinner can also function transparently by only sending null characters to the terminal. In this mode Spinner supports any terminal. It also has a mode called "Ghost in the Machine" in which you can use Spinner to write the spinner character to any TTY, not just your own.
