The dANN project is a library to help facilitate artificial neural networks, artificial intelligence, and artificial genetics within other applications. It is currently written in Java, C++, and C#. However, only the Java version is currently in active development. The other versions can only be obtained from SVN. It provides a powerful interface for programs to include conventional artificial intelligence technology and artificial genetics into their code. It also acts as a testing ground for research and development of new concepts.
envbot is an advanced modular IRC bot coded in bash. Features include SSL, IPv6, modularity (with several good modules already), transport modules (including OpenSSL, GnuTLS, netcat, etc.), loading/unloading/reloading of modules at runtime, rehashing configuration at runtime, advanced access control, and much more.
Sshbak is very simple but powerful and secure remote backup utility. It performs a fast and comprehensible daily (usually) backup of multiple machines via remote SSH connections. The result is a simple set of tar+gzip files. It supports the backup of piped program output (allowing remote backup of mysqldump or pg_dumpall results), parallel backup of different machines, and more.
FreePlot is a simple mathematical program that plots 2D functions written in Python. It provides an easy-to-use interface and a powerful graphing mechanism that allows the user to understand what she is doing at all times. FreePlot features out-of-the-box multiplatform support for GNU/Linux, BSD, Win32, and MacOS. Functions can be saved to an image file. An unlimited number of functions can be used on the same cartesian plane. Multiple colors, multiple line styles and marks, and legends are supported.
fakedbfs is a suite of tools and a library for cataloguing files. Anything that is a file can be catalogued along with metadata. The metadata is then searchable through various querying facilities. It runs entirely in userland and was inspired by BFS, which doesn't do content indexing, only metadata.
RRDutil is a a tool to collect statistics (typically every 5 minutes) from multiple servers, store the values in RRD databases (using RRDtool), and plot out pretty graphs to a Web server on demand. The graph types shown include CPU, memory, disk (space and I/O), Apache, MySQL queries and query types, email, Web hits, and more.
