The dANN project is a library to help facilitate artificial neural networks, artificial intelligence, and artificial genetics within other applications. It is currently written in Java, C++, and C#. However, only the Java version is currently in active development. The other versions can only be obtained from SVN. It provides a powerful interface for programs to include conventional artificial intelligence technology and artificial genetics into their code. It also acts as a testing ground for research and development of new concepts.
FreePlot is a simple mathematical program that plots 2D functions written in Python. It provides an easy-to-use interface and a powerful graphing mechanism that allows the user to understand what she is doing at all times. FreePlot features out-of-the-box multiplatform support for GNU/Linux, BSD, Win32, and MacOS. Functions can be saved to an image file. An unlimited number of functions can be used on the same cartesian plane. Multiple colors, multiple line styles and marks, and legends are supported.
PDFTextStream is a PDF text and metadata extraction library available for Java and .NET. It supports all versions of the PDF document specification (including v1.7, used by Acrobat 8, 9, and X), extraction of text encoded using double-byte character sets (including Chinese, Japanese, and Korean), decryption of documents encrypted using 40-bit, 128-bit, 256-bit, and variable bit length ciphers, and extraction of all document metadata provided by PDF documents (including form data, bookmarks, and annotations). Easy integration with Jakarta Lucene is included, as well as interactive form update capability.
rsyncbackup is a handy tool for scheduled backups using rsync. rsyncbackup lets you easily setup multiple source folders and destinations, both locally, on your iPod or external firewire disk, or at a remote destination using ssh. rsyncbackup has no GUI, but is based on editing configuration files. The script is meant to be run in a crontab, so user interaction is not neccesary. Basic terminal skills are required to use the program.
