FreeNOS is an experimental microkernel operating system for learning purposes. The system is very experimental, yet it currently supports virtual memory, simple task scheduling, and interprocess communication (IPC). It currently contains support for a few devices, including VGA, keyboard, i8250 serial, ATA drives, and PCI controllers. FreeNOS has an experimental implementation of several filesystems, such as the virtual file system, procfs, tmpfs, linnfs, and ext2fs. Current application libraries include libposix, libc, libteken (terminal emulation), and libexec (executable formats). All source code has been documented with Doxygen tags. It has been tested on recent versions of Qemu, VMWare, VirtualBox, Bochs, and bare hardware.
Cooperation IWS is an Intranet Nomad Web Server. It is a Web server to provide hosting services for Web applications for collaborative work that contributes to knowledge management and knowledge engineering. Cooperation-iws servers are available in sixteen flavors divided into two groups: the standalone servers and the intranet system of servers.
StreamBOX-LiveCD is a KNOPPIX-based boot CD which is specially designed to stream MP3s. It also includes some programs to stream in the Ogg Vorbis format, to cut audio, to view video and video streams, and to perform other similar tasks. It is intended to be used at smaller radio stations.
SimMon is a cross platform monitoring tool which runs on almost any OS that supports the Java Virtual Machine 1.4+. Monitoring is done through the execution of existing monitoring scripts (Perl/VBS) or existing shell commands. Currently monitoring scripts are available for Solaris, Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows based systems. Network devices can be monitored via the integrated SNMPv1 scheduler.
NuFW.Live is a live CD based on knoppix. This is the simplest way to test the authenticating firewall NuFW and its associated tools. NuFW.Live features all NuFW's related software. It includes identity-based filtering rules to Netfilter, Nulog 2, a powerful firewall log analysis Web interface, Nuface 2, an ACL management interface, and pyctd, a Netfilter connection tracking display and modification interface.
ISDN Router allows you to convert old hardware into a secure masquerading ISDN router, including caching nameserver, IP Port Forwarding, and on-demand channel bundling. The system fits onto a single disk, and users can change the configuration through a simple menu-based system (on the console or over telnet) and store it permanently on the disk.
mkpkg is a small toolkit for automatically building Slackware or OpenLab packages. It should work on most packages that contain a makefile. It follows Slackware standards and is intended to build packages acceptable for linuxpackages.net. After you type the description, it generates a correctly formatted slack-desc file and logs configure options.
A.M.I.C.U.S. (Automatic Multimedia Installation Configuration Utility System) helps users quickly and easily install and configure MythTV on generic PC hardware. It uses the Debian Netinst CD to install GNU/Linux and just the required packages to allow a functional MythTV on low end hardware.
Gentoo For Zaurus is a port of the Gentoo Distribution to the Zaurus PDA. It can be mounted over NFS so no changes to a current configuration are needed. It includes a native gcc environment for ARM, the zgcc-3.3.1 cross compiler for the main PC with distcc configured so that the main PC does the actual compiling, and X11 for testing applications.
