ipt_pkd is an iptables extension implementing port knock detection with SPA (single packet authorization). This project provides 3 parts: the kernel module ipt_pkd, the iptables user space module libipt_pkd.so, and a user space client knock program. For the knock packet, it uses a UDP packet sent to a random port that contains a SHA-256 of a timestamp, small header, random bytes, and a shared key. ipt_pkd checks the time window of the packet and does the SHA-256 to verify the packet. The shared key is never sent.

Moodss is a modular monitoring application, which supports operating systems (Linux, UNIX, Windows, etc.), databases (MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, ODBC, etc.), networking (SNMP, Apache, etc.), and any device or process for which a module can be developed (in Tcl, Python, Perl, Java, and C). An intuitive GUI with full drag'n'drop support allows the construction of dashboards with graphs, pie charts, etc., while the thresholds functionality includes emails and user defined scripts. Monitored data can be archived in a SQL database by both the GUI and the companion daemon, so that complete history over time can be made available from Web pages or common spreadsheet software. It can even be used for future behavior prediction or capacity planning, from the included predictor tool, based on powerful statistical methods and artificial neural networks.

The Openwall Linux kernel patch is a collection of security "hardening" features for the Linux kernel. In addition to the new features, some versions of the patch contain various security fixes. The "hardening" features of the patch, while not a complete method of protection, provide an extra layer of security against the easier ways to exploit certain classes of vulnerabilities and/or reduce the impact of those vulnerabilities. The patch can also add a little bit more privacy to the system by restricting access to parts of /proc so that users may not see what others are doing.

uLan Driver provides 9-bit character message- oriented communication protocol that is transferred over an RS-485 link. The physical layer consists of one twisted pair of leads, and RS-485 transceivers. Supported hardware includes OX16C954 PCI based add-on cards, USB-to-uLan converters, the i82510 RS-485 card, or simple active converter dongle for standard PC RS-232 ports. The whole set of libraries and support tools is available for building embedded devices. They range from low level firmware boot-loaders and debugging tools up to object oriented properties browsing and manipulation and process data communication channels mapping.

The Web10G project (a follow-on from Web100) was created to produce a complete host-software environment that will run common TCP applications at 100% of the available bandwidth, regardless of the magnitude of a network's capability. Web10G has endowed TCP with better instrumentation. This instrumentation is the foundation for both the TCP autotuning performed in process-level code and the process-level tools designed to locate bottlenecks within the following major subsystems: the sending application, the sending OS, the Internet path, the receiving OS, and the receiving application. Measurement tools have also been built on this instrumentation to display performance indicators to end-users, as well as provide internal diagnostics for network and system administrators.
