SEPPL is both a protocol definition and a software implementation of a new encryption layer for IPv4. It is extremely leightweight and easy to use. It is implemented for the Linux kernel and makes use of netfiler and the Linux CryptoAPI. It is intended as a software replacement for WEP but may be used on non-wireless lans as well. It even fits for VPN solutions.
Statsnet is a small set of scripts that will generate graphical statistics for a specific device. The statistics contain among other things, transmitted/received packets as well as bytes. In addition, it shows amount of currently tracked connections in the conntrack engine of netfilter.
Squashfs is a highly compressed read-only filesystem for Linux. It uses zlib to compress files, inodes, and directories. All blocks are packed to minimize the data overhead, and block sizes of between 4K and 1M are supported. It is intended to be used for archival use, for live CDs, and for embedded systems where low overhead is needed.
Virtual Network Address Translation (VNAT) is a novel architecture that allows transparent migration of end-to-end live network connections associated with various computation units. Such computation units can be either a single process, or a group of processes, or an entire host. It virtualizes network connections perceived by transport protocols so that identification of network connections is decoupled from stationary hosts. Such virtual connections are then remapped into physical connections to be carried on the physical network using network address translation.
Ulim is a Linux kernel module which enforces resource limits on every process in the system. There are already solutions like pam_limit, but there are some places where the user can execute his programs, but PAM is not used (for example .forward or .procmailrc files, or CGI scripts). Ulim works in the kernel and sets the limits whenever a process changes its real UID, so every process run by a user will have the correct limits.
