GNU TeXmacs is a free wysiwyw (what you see is what you want) editing platform with special features for scientists. The software aims to provide a unified and user friendly framework for editing structured documents with different types of content: text, mathematics, graphics, interactive content. TeXmacs can also be used as an interface to many external systems for computer algebra, numerical analysis, and statistics. New presentation styles can be written by the user and new features can be added to the editor using Scheme.

PTimeTracker is a small Qt-based program that helps you keep track of the time spent on projects. The time in minutes spent on the active project is displayed on the icon and title bar and therefore viewable even when the program is minimised. Since September 9, 2001, the routines in Corel WordPerfect 8 for converting to and from Microsoft Word documents has not worked. This software is a very elegant fix for this problem. It will make the filters work again by placing a small "wrapper library" around three small utilities in the WordPerfect directory. It leaves your current WordPerfect installation unharmed.

OpenOffice.org Quickstarter is a small application that runs in the KDE SystemTray. It is used to quickly start the different OpenOffice.org modules without having to go through the K-Menu. Instead of just starting of applications, you can also select multiple files in the usual opendialog provided by KDE to open them in OpenOffice.org, use a history of recently opened files, configure the app to do one of the above described functions on a simple double click, and use the app to keep a hidden instance of OpenOffice.org in memory to achieve much shorter startup times of the OpenOffice.org modules.
