SDE for NetBeans is a UML modeling environment tightly integrated with NetBeans. It lets you draw all types of UML diagrams (use case diagram, class diagram, sequence diagram, activity diagram, etc.) in NetBeans, reverse source code (Java, C++, XML, XML Schema, CORBA IDL, etc.) to UML models, and generate Java source from UML diagrams. It features a Rational Rose importer, an XMI importer, HTML/PDF documentation generators, and plug-in and template support.
The Interreality project is a collection of Open Source, Free Software projects based on the Virtual Object System (VOS) platform. The goal is to develop a free and open platform for multi-user 3D virtual reality games, applications, and interactive, collaborative 3D virtual spaces. VOS is a powerful and generic network object framework designed to support a variety of high-performance applications. It is the basis for Ter'Angreal, a general-purpose browser application for entering and participating in 3D worlds.
OpenEJB is a simple, lightweight Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) container and server. You can embed OpenEJB in your own applications, or in a Web application server like Tomcat, or run it as a standalone EJB server. It supports EJB 3.0, 2.1, 2.0, and 1.1, and has partial support for EJB 3.1.
XPLC is a component system that tries to enable the use of components in a pervasive way. It aims to be easy to use, have low speed and size overhead, and be language and platform neutral. Basically, the idea is to leave no excuse for an application not to be component-enabled (being a component and/or using components).
SPOPS (Simple Perl Object Persistence w/ Security) is a robust and powerful Perl module that allows you to serialize objects. It is unique in that it also allows you to apply security to these objects using a fairly simple but powerful scheme of users and groups. It's also unique in that for most objects, you will not need to write any code. All you need is a fairly simple configuration file, and you can have a class for your object ready to go, right out of thin air.
Zoidcom is a high level, UDP based game networking library for C/C++. Applications register their gameobjects with Zoidcom, and Zoidcom will manage when which object and which internal data of that object is sent to whom. It uses bitstreams as a native datatype and thus is very bandwidth efficient. Support for background file transfers, synchronization of player movement with extrapolation and client side prediction, and many other things are included.
