nntp2rss provides a bridge to access newsgroups using an RSS reader. It assembles the latest few articles' subjects of one newsgroup into one feed. Users can read any newsgroup with the same script as the group name is passed as a parameter. The feed can contain up to 25 articles (also a parameter), and there is the option to use Google Groups links to view groups and article texts. Feeds are compliant to RSS 0.91, 1.0, or 2.0, PIE/NECHO 0.1, or Unix mbox.
Jeff's News Aggregator is a news getter / page generator that can pull comics, headlines, and RSS feeds and pump them into your template pages. Poseidon is yet another PHP weblog, although its goals are a little different from most. Poseidon is intended to be as small, simple, and cleanly organized as possible. It does its job, which is to manage content and allow user feedback via comments, and that's it. Its features can be enhanced and extended via a robust event-driven plugin API, so you never have to install features you won't use.
fetchrss polls Weblogs (RSS feeds) and emails the updates, one message per updated entry. The effect is comparable to the Weblog author emailing you personally. It can run in the background on your desktop or server. It can be combined with procmail to filter blog updates into their own folder in an IMAP account, for example.
