HATop is an interactive ncurses client and real-time monitoring and statistics displaying tool for the HAProxy TCP/HTTP load balancer. HATop's appearance is similar to top(1). It supports various modes for detailed statistics of all configured proxies and services in near real-time. In addition, it features an interactive CLI for the HAProxy Unix socket. This allows administrators to control the given HAProxy instance (change server weight, put servers into maintenance mode, etc.) directly out of HATop (using keybinds or the CLI) and monitor the results immediately.
desire-adhoc allows you to connect your HTC Desire smartphone to ad-hoc networks. It has been written specifically for the Desire and will not work on other models (unless they use the same network driver, in which case there might be a chance). It requires root access to your phone.
Cloonix is a Linux router and host simulation platform. It fully encapsulates application, host, and network l2 and l3 into a relatively easy-to-use simulation GUI. Network delay and loss characteristics can be configured per link. It provides support for running kvm or UML virtual machines configured into an arbitrary complex network configuration. It is possible to run a 12 router UML simulation on a small x86 host (a P4 with 512 MB RAM). 32- and 64-bit KVM machines are provided.
OpenCAN is a software platform for interacting with various Controller Area Network (CAN or CANbus) devices. It provides an abstract C++ interface that can be used to control CAN devices. Support for specific devices can be written as plugins, and then loaded through a simple API call. The ROHC library provides an easy and robust way for applications to reduce their bandwidth usage on network links with limited capacity or expensive costs. Headers of network packets are compressed with the ROHC protocol and algorithms. The ROHC protocol is very efficient for compressing VoIP streams which use RTP as a transport protocol. ROHC is also suitable for compressing IP-only (IPv4 or IPv6) flows, UDP flows, and many others.
A fail2ban lite. IPQ BDB is a netfilter userspace daemon that can block or mark IP packets according to iptables rules that issue the corresponding -j NFQUEUE, as well as a Berkeley database of bad IPv4 addresses. A log parser and a banning utility add entries to the database. An IP has to be caught a configurable number of times before being blocked. Transitions between blocked and non-blocked are faded using probabilities. A halving period governs IP rehabilitation.
