percomoni will monitor one or more processes. It can read a regular expression from its configuration file to look up the process in your local process table. If the process is not running, percomoni will execute a given command and re-check if the process is up again. If the process is not up after executing the command, an email message will be sent to the address that belongs to that process.
Firetero is a firewall for a single computer. The default setup works for a typical workstation. For a server, a sample configuration is available for most common daemons. Firetero uses the iptables syntax for rule definitions, has a standard /etc/init.d start script, and offers a rules.d directory for integration with other packages.
upnp2mrtg is a simple add-on for the MRTG (Multi Router Traffic Grapher). It can be used to monitor incoming and outgoing bytes of the external interface of the FritzBox DSL router. upnp2mrtg is a command line tool to gather statistics from an upnp enabled FritzBox DSL router. It is a lightweight shell-script for use with MRTG, so no underlying external software (with the exception of netcat) or libraries are required. Using bash-networking instead of netcat is also supported.

It supports multiple concurrent sniffers, packet filtering (aka tcpdump), event triggers and commands, text and binary logging (and replay), remote sniffing (via a demon process), and dynamically loadable plugins. Network traffic is displayed graphically and in detail; supplied plugins summarise traffic by direction (incoming, outgoing), source, and destination.
pasmon is a graphical passive network monitor. It provides statistics on every host and TCP connection heard on the specified interface[s], probes the system to find valid devices and provides a toolbar button which activates monitoring each device. Currently stable, but with missing features.
