Borderline is a firewall generator. It takes a generic rule specification as input and generated an highly optimized firewall. It features IPv6 rule generation, support for multiple interfaces, and integrated support for network zones. It currently only supports firewall generation for Linux 2.6 (netfilter).

NAB is a network simulator targeted at wireless ad hoc and sensor networks. It places a particular emphasisis on scalability and visualization. Routing protocols currently implemented are AODV, EASE, and FRESH. Various MAC layers are available including a null MAC and a CSMA MAC.

Public Opensource Environment for a Safer Internet Access (POESIA) is an Internet content filter, partly funded by the European Commission. POESIA filters harmful content in several channels (Web, email, Usenet news). It combines innovative technologies to achieve more effective filtering than other products. Filtering covers a range of modes, including image filtering, natural language text filtering, URLs, PICs, and JavaScript filtering. The filter will initially be deployed in English, Italian, and Spanish. Additional work is required to cover other European languages.
