RunPON establishes a network connection by calling the pon/poff scripts. It periodically checks that a given interface is still active. It can run as a stand-alone application, as a status icon (in the tray), or as a GNOME panel applet.

The ldNetManager.py tool gives you the ability to manage your network devices without having to purchase a product like Cisco's LMS or go through the planning phase of deploying a product like func. Such tools only have the ability to manage devices in their realm. Func supports Linux devices, and Cisco LMS supports only Cisco devices. This tool has one goal: to update your devices without deploying any software to your remote devices. All you need is either telnet or SSH access to your devices, and Python2.4 or better with Pexpect installed.

OpenClass is a simple solution for class control. It provides multicast screen projection (sending the teacher's screen to all of the students), student attention requests (blocking student activities and asking them to look at teacher), viewing of all student screens at once, direct messaging to students, file and URL sharing, computer shutdown, access control for specific classes, and support for multi-seat configurations and multiple clients per machine.
