Simplebackup is a cross-platform backup program. It reads a configuration file, then it builds a compressed file for each of your backup directories or files on your backup list, and places the compressed files into another location. For example, this location can be a network mapped drive in Windows, an NFS mounted drive in Unix, another hard disk, an FTP server, an SFTP (Secure FTP) server, an HTTP (WebDAV) server, one or more email accounts, or a tape device (Unix only). This will duplicate your information, doing the so called "backup".
pkg_db.pl generates a pretty-printed HTML list and statistics of packages installed via NetBSD pkgsrc. It creates 3 HTML files: one index, containing a list of all installed packages with short descriptions, one with the detailed description of the package, and one with a list of installed files. It requires pkg_info.
dhcpd-wrapper is a set of shell scripts to make lengthy dhcpd.conf files more manageable and portable. It also allows the use of a backup dhcpd server without using ISC's failover code. The wrapper allows the dhcpd.conf file to be broken up into a logical set of configuration files by shared network and group. It can also work with very simple configurations.
ManiWheel is a GL hack for xscreensaver. It draws the spinning Tibetan mantra, "OM MANI PEME HUNG" for the blessing of all beings. It features transparent and no-transparent modes, two internal textures, the option to enable or disable a specular image. The height, radius, shininess, distance, and speed of rotation may be changed. It can also be used to draw any texture in the .rgb format.
UCARP allows a pair of hosts to share common virtual IP addresses in order to provide automatic failover. It is a portable userland implementation of the secure and patent- free Common Address Redundancy Protocol (CARP, OpenBSD's alternative to VRRP). Strong points of the CARP protocol include its very low overhead, cryptographically signed messages, interoperability between different operating systems and no need for any dedicated extra network link between redundant hosts.
