MySQL Split Read/Write for Drupal is a patch for Drupal versions 5 and 6 that allows a Drupal-based Web site to access a multi-server MySQL setup with master/slave replication. This allows Drupal to send all MySQL select (read) queries to the slave nodes, while allowing insert, update, and select (write and read) queries to be pointed at the master node. The code modification allows for an increased 30% improvement under query-based transactions on this platform environment.

The UniversalContainer class is an attempt to provide a class which can act in a manner similar to the untyped variables, arrays, and hash-maps found in popular scripting languages such as Perl and PHP. The result is a class that can hold a wide variety of data and meta-data in a very flexible structure. UniversalContainers can hold integers, doubles, booleans, single characters, strings, and wide character strings. UniversalContainers may also be used as associative maps between strings and other UniversalContainers, or as arrays of UniversalContainers. Routines for database access and REST programming are included, including a JSON serialization engine.
Pdbsql provides three samba passdb backend modules: pdb_mysql, pdb_pgsql, and pdb_multi. pdb_mysql is a MySQL passdb backend. pdb_pgsql is a PostgreSQL passdb backend. pdb_multi is a backend which loads multiple passdb backends. These are provided because support for MySQL and PostGreSQL passdb backends has been removed from the Samba source tree, due to lack of an active maintainer.
PHP On Pie is a PHP framework that combines the best ideas from PHP projects like Drupal, CodeIgniter, Kohana, and ZendFramework. It has very few core concepts: classes, models, events, slots, and tools. It lets you repackage completed apps into plugins that you or others can use later. Its smart database classes allow you to implement vertical and horizontal partitioning (sharding) easily to handle millions of users.

mysqlblasy is a Perl script for automating MySQL database backups. It uses "mysqldump" for dumping mysql databases to the files sytem. It was written with automated usage in mind. For example, it is silent during operation, and only produces noise on errors/problems. It rotates backups automatically to prevent the backup disk from getting full when the administrator is on vacation (or is lazy).
