PhpPeanuts is a framework for developing database-backed applications in PHP. Rather than building an application from the bottom up, you initially only build domain model classes in which you specify properties, relationships, and database table names in metadata. The framework dynamically scaffolds getters and setters, persistency, navigation over relations, and input and delete validation. The abstract user interface instantly offers a rich set of pages for searching, browsing, drilling down, editing and reporting over your domain model. From there on you extend and refine both the domain model and the user interface to make it what you want by defining specialization classes and overriding inherited methods.

It is a component-based and event-driven framework which uses commonly-known enterprise design patterns like MVC (Model View Controller), Front Controller, and ORM (Object-Relational Mapping) design patterns like Active Record and Repository. RMI WebSocket provides a library for remote method invocations between a browser and a Jetty Web Server using the HTML5 WebSocket. The idea is to enable tight method-level integration between the user interface and the server so that patterns such as MVP (Model-View-Presenter) can be applied in a Web environment. The method-level communications between the browser code and the server code allows the developer to think about the Web page and server-side components as objects in a UML world. Details such as the over-the-wire protocols in WebSockets are abstracted away in the process.
