Paul Nolan's Photogenics is an exciting new graphics package for Linux. It allows you to create stunning images, either from scratch or by modifying existing pictures. It can be used for everything from simple file conversion to advanced photo manipulation and retouching. It also offers extremely realistic and easy-to-use media such as pencils, chalk, and watercolours.
The Utah Raster Toolkit is a collection of graphics tools ca. 1992. It is similar in purpose to the more widely known Netpbm/Pbmplus tools, but is based on a different basic format. The basic format for the Utah tools is RLE (named after "run length encoding"). The package contains converters between RLE and several other graphics file formats and Netpbm contains facilities to convert between RLE and lots of other formats. The collection includes programs that operate on files, a C subroutine library, and programs to display graphics on a various devices. The Utah Raster Toolkit is primarily the result of research work at The University of Utah and The University of Michigan.
imaverage uses the viewing frequency and viewing time from a spawned image viewer to build a dynamic database entry for images to gauge their relative preference for a given user. Once the entries have been created, imaverage will continue to show images randomly, with dynamic preference weights. On average, your favorite images should show up most frequently.
getID3() is a PHP script that extracts useful information from MP3s and other multimedia file formats. It extracts information like the play time, bitrate, and resolution from the following file formats: MP3, Ogg Vorbis, WAV, AVI, Matroska (MKV), MPEG-1 video, Windows Media (ASF, WMA, WMV), RealAudio & RealVideo, Monkey's Audio, FLAC & OggFLAC, VQF, Speex, Musepack (MPC), AAC, AU, VOC, AIFF, OptimFROG, WavPack, LiteWave, LPAC, RKAU, SZIP, Shorten, Quicktime, NSV, MIDI, ZIP, ISO9660, TTA, PhotoCD, BMP, PNG, GIF, and JPEG. It parses information from ID3v1, ID3v2, Ogg Vorbis, Lyrics3 v1 & v2, RIFF (AVI, WAV, CDA, CART, BWF), APE, ReplayGain, PNG, and GIF tags, and can write ID3v1, ID3v2, APE2, FLAC, and Ogg Vorbis tags.
Dvbnrc is a TCP Daemon written in Perl that allows you to remotely control a Nokia Mediamaster running DVB2000 through a serial nullmodem cable. It allows you to telnet to the box, get the list of available TV/radio channels, change tha channel, show the current one, or change the text of the LCDisplay.
Gwave is a waveform viewer. Its purpose is for viewing analog data, such as the output from Spice-like simulations. Gwave can read binary or ascii files written by HSpice from transient, AC, or Sweep analyses, "raw" files written by Spice2, Spice3, or ngspice, and transient analysis files from the CAzM simulator. It can also read a generic tabular ASCII format suitable for use with ACS or homegrown tools. It supports multiple "panels" (graticlules) with multiple variables displayed in each. Two vertical-bar cursors are available for time-difference measurements. Multiple files can be loaded, for comparing the results of several simulations.
