OIO is a Web-based metadata/data management front-end which is built using Zope and works with Postgresql. No programming is required to build and manage Web-forms or to perform data mining/analysis on the collected data. It is in production at the Harbor/UCLA Medical Center for clinical outcomes management and research data. Forms created with OIO and hosted on any OIO server can be downloaded as XML files. Once downloaded from the "Forms library" and imported into an OIO server, the necessary database tables are automatically recreated and the imported forms become immediately available to the users of that OIO server.
Grip is a CD player and CD ripper/MP3-encoder for the GNOME desktop. It has the ripping capabilities of cdparanoia built in, but can also use external rippers (such as cdda2wav). It also provides an automated frontend for MP3 encoders (presets for lame, bladeenc, l3enc, xingmp3enc, mp3encode, and gogo), letting you take a disc and transform it easily straight into MP3s. The Ogg Vorbis format is also supported. Internet disc lookups are supported for retrieving track information from disc database servers. Grip works with DigitalDJ to provide a unified, "computerized" version of your music collection.
XMMS-SID is an XMMS1 plugin which provides support for playing the so-called "SID tunes". It uses the libSIDPlay1 and/or libSIDPlay2 emulator engines, which provide a virtual emulation/simulation of the Commodore 64 computer and its SID sound chip. It features a file info window, support for STIL database, a song length database, and good configurability.
Data Crow is a movie, video, book, image, software, and music cataloger/media manager. Data Crow uses MusicBrainz, Amazon, IMDb, and many other Web services to retrieve the information for you. It is highly customizable, easy to use, and feature rich. It helps you to keep track of your loans, allows you to create reports, enables you to create your own modules (using wizards) and, most importantly, enables you to easily manage all your collections.
ccaudio2 is a simple, highly portable, stand-alone, C++-based framework for manipulation of audio data. Its goal is to be a C++ framework that is as useful as "audiofile" or "sndfile" is for C programming, and to cover various generic and useful manipulations of audio data as well as audio file access. A stand-alone audio processing command line tool is also provided to demonstrate library functionality. ccaudio2 compiles under Mac OS X, POSIX systems, and Win32 systems.
SANE stands for "Scanner Access Now Easy" and is an application programming interface (API) that provides standardized access to any raster image scanner hardware (flatbed scanner, handheld scanner, video and still cameras, framegrabbers, etc.). The SANE standard is public domain and its discussion and development are open to everybody. The source code is written for UNIX (including Linux) and is available under the GPL, but commercial applications and backends are welcome. The package contains the libraries, net support, and scanimage. The X frontends xscanimage and xcam can be found in sane-frontends.
