EMAN is a scientific image processing suite with full Python bindings. While it is mainly designed to perform single-particle reconstructions of individual molecules, it may also have uses for many other imaging methods. Single particle reconstruction is a method where projection images of individual molecules in random orientations are processed to produce a 3D structure of the molecule in question. The library can process 1-3 dimensional data in a variety of formats, including a variety of Fourier and real-space filters and many more esoteric image processing routines.
