EQUINOX-3D is a 3D modeler with a very fast, fully integrated ray-tracer. It features read/write support for COLLADA, read support for Radiance's .hdr image format, 3DS (3D-studio) file format read support, multi-texturing, custom-programmable texture mapping, bump-mapping with automatic texture-space tangents, the ability to zoom into a region with "fly-to", and more. It includes a full runtime-class framework and a core design that allows for the addition of anything from a physics engine to a fully integrated renderer from a plugin. It is faster and more memory efficient than many other modelers.
VisIt is an interactive parallel visualization and graphical analysis tool for viewing scientific data. Users can quickly generate visualizations from their data, animate them through time, manipulate them, and save the resulting images for presentations. VisIt contains a rich set of visualization features so that you can view your data in a variety of ways. It can be used to visualize scalar and vector fields defined on two- and three-dimensional (2D and 3D) structured and unstructured meshes. It was designed to interactively handle very large data set sizes in the terascale range, and works well down to small data sets in the kilobyte range.
Libao is a cross-platform audio library that allows programs to output audio using a simple API on a wide variety of platforms. It also includes QTPE Scene Packager, a tool designed to retrive any file used in Povray scene, starting from a .ini or a .pov file. It creates a copy of the scene and replaces all file inclusions so that the scene can be rendered on an other system without having to worry about libraries or fonts.
Flight Navigation Planner lets you make flight plans based on known airports, navaids, fixes, or cities. You can use the sectional charts, wacs, or the vector/terrain planning charts. It calculates headings, winds, time, and fuel. It features Airways-based Auto-Routing, Climb and Descent calculations (a/c type based), Fuel Stop Planning, Auto-Route around MOAS and Restricted Airspace, Hi-Res Weather Radar Overlay, Viewing of current sectional, wac, and IFR charts, the ability to see a route over TFRs, detailed nexrad radar overlays over your routes, Terrain Profiles with cloud ceilings, and the ability to upload flight plans to GPS.
Drqueue is a distributed rendering queue. It helps manage jobs on a render farm. It works under Linux, Mac OS X, FreeBSD, IRIX, and Windows, supports Maya, Blender, Lightwave, Mental Ray, Bmrt (Renderman), 3Delight, and Pixie out of the box, and can support any other renderer or computing task that can be handled via scripting.
TVEz is a browser-based system to manage movies, shows, and clips stored on local or remote file systems. It is also a front end to the XINE video player that makes the control of the player possible from the Web browser. It retrieves information about movies, including an image of the cover, from IMDB, and stores that information in a MySQL database. The database entries are fully searchable by director, writers, actors, titles, etc. It includes a rating system for movies by which movies can be sorted such that your most favorite ones appear on top of the list.
