LinuxMCE is an add-on to Kubuntu that provides a complete whole-house media solution. It provides PVR and distributed media functions. It is stable, easy to use, and requires no knowledge of Linux and only basic computer skills. It allows you to set up a computer system that centralizes audio/video equipment, allowing you to access all media functions in other rooms with only thin clients.
Marvin is an extensible image processing framework for Java. It provides features to manipulate images, to manipulate captured video frames, and to process images with multi-threading. Its features can be extended via plug-ins. Plug-ins can be integrated with the graphical user interface, and their plug-in performance can be analyzed. Every image processing algorithm is developed as a plug-in that can be plugged into the MarvinEditor, an image manipulation program that uses plug-ins developed using Marvin, or into third-party applications. Currently there are 36 plug-ins available.
din is a software musical instrument and audio synthesizer. Bezier curves are used to draw and sculpt waveforms, create gating and modulation (FM and AM) patterns, and create delay feedback and volume patterns. You can also create an unlimited number of drones and sculpt their waveforms. It uses JACK to output audio, and supports MIDI, OSC and IRC bot for input. din can be extended and customized with Tcl scripts.
V CAST Media Manager is an application to manage videos, pictures, and music on your phone and computer. It can be used to save the pictures and videos created with your phone onto your computer. It can transfer files between your computer and phone via a compatible USB cable. It can be used to create picture albums, slideshows, and video playlists. Its included editing tools can be used to touch up pictures. It can transfer songs from your computer to your phone. It can import music and playlists from other applications. It can rip and burn CDs. It can also be used with an optional online storage subscription account to upload and backup your files and download them later from the Web or a compatible phone.
Bangarang is a semantically empowered media player. Fully integrated with KDE’s Nepomuk semantic storage, Bangarang has access to indexed media information and automatically shares its own media information, rating, tags, and usage statistics with other Nepomuk powered applications. Anything Phonon multimedia system plays, Bangarang plays. Audio settings and video settings are automatically enabled if the Phonon backend supports it. Plasma desktop widgets with MPRIS support can directly control Bangarang. Bangarang keeps you in control of your media experience. It provides quick access to lists of recently played, highest rated, and frequently played items. The Info View provides helpful information when you need it. Media information can be edited easily. It can fetch artist, song, movie, and TV show information from open data providers like Last.fm, themoviedb.org, and theTVDB.com. Bangarang lets you use either tags or files and folders to organize your media in any way you wish.
