JamochaMUD offers Unicode, plug-in, and multi-language support (8 different languages) to allow a more enjoyable MUCKing/MUDding experience. It features command history, synchronized window controls, experimental SOCKS 5 support, and greatly improved ANSI colour support. It plays nice on Unix systems, supports a wide range of MU*s, and also includes emulation of some TinyFugue editor controls. JamochaMUD includes classes that may be easily reused in other Java applications.
The WorldForge Project is developing a complete, distributable framework for massively multiplayer online roleplaying games. The system will include a number of fully developed roleplaying worlds with unique maps, histories, creatures and legends. To run these worlds on the servers a balanced but highly customisable set of roleplaying rules is being developed. Provisions will be made to allow others the ability to recode the servers to use alternate rule sets. A standard protocol named Atlas is being developed to allow a common communication layer between clients, servers, and associated tools. For software packages that make up the system being developed by the WorldForge project, please see the dependencies for this record.
Mooix is a multiuser object-oriented dimension (a MOO) layered over top of your favorite Unix system. To the user, mooix looks much like any other MOO. To the programmer, mooix objects look like directories full of files: executable methods, properties, and links to other objects. MOOs have historically had poor support for such things as real programming languages, encrypted logins, multitasking, and editors. Mooix inherits all of these things from the Unix system it is based on. At the same time, it's not wedded too tightly to Unix (e.g., it implements its own permissions system that is much more suited to a MOO environment than the historical Unix system).
MudMagic Mud Client is a GTK/GNOME multi-platform MUD client. It provides aliases, triggers, multiple connections, plugins, MCCP, ZMP, MSP, tabbed sessions, ANSI color, and a game list that can be updated from mudmagic.com. It is configurable on a per-session basis. Plugins include an automapper, database, and note pad.
SMM++ Mud Client is a mud client with extended and unique features. Aside from all standard mud client functionality like ANSI color support, aliases, action triggers, and tab-completion, SMM++ features a highly-customizable user interface (labels, buttons, and menus) and unique and powerful mapping capabilities, and SMM++ is the only mapping crossplatform (Tcl/Tk based) mud client available.
Deliantra is a client for Deliantra game servers. It offers an intuitive user interface for exploring the vast game world, a persistent minimap, powerful macros and keymaps, dialog-based NPC interaction, and easy configuration for the skill, spell, and item system. It is based on Perl, SDL, and OpenGL for high performance on modern systems, and works on both Unix and Windows. Ports to other platforms should be very easy and are underway.
