Vallheru is a turn-based, fantasy MMORPG written in PHP and MySQL (but may work with many other databases) with Smarty Template Engine, ADOdb, and PHP Mailer. It is based on Gamers-Fusion 2.5 with many modifications in security, speed, and features. It is currently available only in Polish.
ErlyMUD is a rather minimalistic MUD server, written in Erlang and making use of the excellent OTP libraries. php mudnames is a PHP class that can generate random names for characters used in role playing games such as multi-user dungeon (MUD) games. Although the names do not mean anything, they sound very much like typical names of characters that you often see in this kind of game. It can retrieve text data from one of several dictionary files. The dictionary data is used to generate random names based on selected capabilities and used particles.
Twisted is an event-based framework for Internet applications. It includes a Web server, an SMTP/POP3 server, a telnet server, an SSH server, an IRC server, a DNS server, a generic client/server pair for remote object access (Perspective Broker), and APIs for creating new protocols. It supports integration with GTK+, GTK+ 2, Qt, Tkinter, wxPython, Mac OS X (PyObjC) and Win32 event loops. It also supports TCP, SSL and TLS, UDP, Unix sockets, multicast, and serial ports. Supported protocols include HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, TOC, OSCAR (AIM and ICQ), SSH, DNS, IRC, NNTP, Jabber, SOCKSv4, Telnet, SIP (for VoIP), and XML-RPC and SOAP using external packages. Most protocols are supported as both servers and clients.
