php mudnames is a PHP class that can generate random names for characters used in role playing games such as multi-user dungeon (MUD) games. Although the names do not mean anything, they sound very much like typical names of characters that you often see in this kind of game. It can retrieve text data from one of several dictionary files. The dictionary data is used to generate random names based on selected capabilities and used particles.
DutchPIPE allows Web developers to make virtual multi-user "avatar" environments. Each Web page becomes an abstracted environment or location where visitors and other items on the page are visualized. This status is retained as visitors move around. A lot of real-time interaction is possible, resulting in persistent interactive page environments. DutchPIPE uses AJAX and the DOM for the browser, and it works without Java, Flash, plugins, or firewall adjustments.
Myth2 is an implementation of a binary tree and used to run an 'interactive story'. The user traverses down the tree and at each node is given a bit of story and two options to choose which path to follow. If there is no story after the option, the user is given the chance to add to the story. It is written in PHP 4 and uses MySQL for the backend. Output is fully XHTML 1.0 Transitional compatible and fairly flexible.
