COID is an object-oriented networking library with a tool that automatically generates a lightweight communication layer directly from a C++ class declaration. The coidgen tool automatically extracts designated classes and methods from specified header files and generates a corresponding client class and host dispatcher. The server library manages networked and local connections and provides various services to running objects. The communication layer establishes either remote connection through TCP or direct (vtable) connection between the client and the server (if they reside in the same process).
libbgrab is a video4linux grabbing library to facilitate use of framegrabber cards and webcams through a few function calls. To implement constant throughput and to avoid frame loss delays, triple buffering is used through local buffer copying in a separate grabbing thread. The many demo and utility programs included can display live video to X, convert live video to ASCII, smoothly zoom live-video (using Glide), do some image processing (using MMX), and provide a stand-alone webcam image server.
DSML is the Directory Services Markup Language, an XML dialect for working with directory information. The DSML Tools provide for the querying of any LDAP directory (with search results output as DSML), the importing of DSML data into any LDAP directory, the directory-context validation of DSML (checking for illegal attributes in the entries, etc.), and the calculation of the differences (for a directory) between two DSML documents to provide an XML Diff algorithm for DSML data. This software makes all LDAP-supporting directories DSML-enabled. It can also check the integrity of DSML data, and show at a glance how two data sets, represented as DSML, differ.
brickOS (formerly LegOS) is an alternative OS for The Lego Group's Mindstorms Robotics System. It is intended to allow an RCX owner to write programs for the RCX in C or C++ and download them to the robot. It includes APIs for control of the robot's inputs and outputs, LCD, and all other basic features of the RCX. It also includes advanced OS functionality, like threading, semaphores, and floating point math. Cross-compilers (which are necessary to compile the code) are available for RH 6.2, Debian woody, and all Windows/DOS variants.
OpenEmcee Microflow Engine is a Java framework designed to encourage development of modular, reusable, and independent units of business logic. It drafts from the MC of the MVC pattern; XML is used to define overall program flow, and Java is used to implement data flow and business logic.
