JavaWeather is multithreaded Java code which connects to the NWS servers to download current weather conditions and forecasts from 3,000 observation stations around the US and the world, and provide bean-like access info for Java applications and servlets (not applets). It also includes some temperature utilities.
TinySoar is an implementation of the Soar artificial intelligence architecture that is intended to run on a memory-constrained device, like a robot. Soar is a "real time'' performance runtime that incorporates acting, planning, and learning in a rule-based framework. TinySoar includes alternative firmware for the Lego Mindstorms RCX, so you can control a Lego robot with a Soar agent.
NTXShape is a GIS data conversion tool that translates CARIS NTX interchange files into the ESRI shapefile format. It converts points, lines, polygons, text, spot heights, and soundings, preserving virtually all of the information found in the source data. It includes a command-line interface and a static library.
LiquidMaya is a Maya to Renderman plug-in that handles full Renderman output support with a focus on speed, efficiency, and extensibility. Its features include procedural rib generation, full network rendering support, segmented rib files, a shader assignment interface, and much more. Along with the ability to write full C++ plug-ins, it is incredibly easy to script Liquid with Mel. Liquid was used for the visual effects of the "Lord of the Rings" movie.
Quantity/Formatter Library is a Java library developed in accordance to the quantity/formatter pattern (as demonstrated by the Date/SimpleDateFormat in the standard J2SE library). The following quantity/formatter pairs are currently available: Currency/CurrencyFormat, Density/ DensityFormat, Dimension/DimensionFormat, Distance/ DistanceFormat, ElapsedTime/ElapsedTimeFormat, Temperature/TemperatureFormat, Volume/VolumeFormat, and Weight/WeightFormat.
