The SeaMonkey project is a community effort to develop an all-in-one Internet application suite. It contains an Internet browser, email and newsgroup client with an included Web feed reader, HTML editor, IRC chat, and Web development tools, and is sure to appeal to advanced users, Web developers, and corporate users. It uses much of the Mozilla source code powering such successful siblings as Firefox, Thunderbird, Camino, Sunbird, and Miro.
Pike is an interpreted, object-oriented, dynamic programming language with a syntax similar to C. It includes a powerful modules system that, for instance, has image manipulation, database connectivity and advanced cryptography. It is simple to learn, does not require long compilation passes and has powerful built-in data types allowing simple and fast data manipulation.
PWLib is a moderately large class library that was originally designed as a method to produce applications that run on both Microsoft Windows and Unix/X11 systems. It includes classes for I/O portability, multi-threading portability, aid in producing Unix daemons and NT services portably, and all sorts of Internet protocols. It also offers basic "container" classes such as arrays, linear lists, sorted lists (RB Tree), and dictionaries (hash tables) which were all created before the STL. This library is used by the OpenH323 library.
The Echo2 Extras package is a collection of additional Web user interface components for the AJAX-based Echo2 Web framework. Provided components include a tabbed pane, an animated "accordion" pane, a pulldown menu, an HSV-style color selector, and a calendar widget. These components may be used with the latest Echo2 2.1 releases.
Presenting XML is a Java Web application framework for presenting HTML, PDF, WML, etc. in a device independent manner. It supports various kinds of content, including XML files, dynamic content, SQL result sets, and flat files. It provides a declarative way for applying filters and XSLT transforms to a stream of XML content in a pipeline. It allows user defined filters and serializers written as Java plug-ins. It is component based and extendable. Presenting XML may be used as a command line tool or as a framework for a servlet-based Web application.
