Check_MK is a complex addon for Nagios/Icinga and consists of three subprojects. The check and inventory system Check_MK is a general purpose Nagios plugin for retrieving data. It adopts a new approach for collecting data and obsoletes NRPE, check_by_ssh, NSClient, and check_snmp. It features a significant reduction of CPU use on the Nagios host and automatic inventory of items to be checked, and is especially useful with larger Nagios installations. "MK Livestatus" gives immediate and fast access to live and historic Nagios status data. It's a supported backend for many addons including NagVis, NagiosBP, and Thruk. "Check_MK Multisite" is a feature complete replacement for the Nagios GUI, and uses MK Livestatus as a backend. It is very fast, and supports efficient distributed monitoring.
Checkservice is a Perl script that monitors services on remote hosts. It uses plugins to provide a more thorough check than just a socket check, and can be configured to check multiple services on multiple hosts using two different methods (simple and extended). It is able to write logs and when running in the background enables warnings. It features a beep-, mail-, and SMS-warning system.
CB-MOC is used to monitor ChessBrain.net peer nodes. Short for "Chess Brain Peer Node Monitoring Operations Center," this program aims to offer full monitoring and statistics generation for each peer node that an operator runs. It offers tabular information and graphs to allow an operator to quickly assess the performance and status of each node.
Chronic is a constraints-based opportunistic application-level scheduler. Unlike cron, which schedules according to a time specification, it schedules tasks when specified constraints are met. In other words, it schedules during a window of opportunity when the circumstances are favorable.
CkFormLogin is a plug-in for the Nagios network monitoring system that makes it more useful in the context of secured Web sites (with login forms) and access management/single sign-on protected environments. Originally developed to monitor Web applications that require authenticated access, it works by simulating an actual user login to verify each and every step in the process. It can be used to continuously verify the "end-user" functionality of secured Web sites, detect outages in commercial access management products or externalized security plug-ins, and quickly verify security system stability after large configuration changes.
